Billy Joe "Bill" Sutter is Lynn Sutter Adler Hearne's father. (Lynn being one half of the duo Adler & Hearne, for clarification as to why this man's music is on this duo's Band Camp page!) He is pictured here with his wife of 66 years, Janet Anne Conrad Sutter.

At the publishing of Bill Sutter's recordings here on our Band Camp page, Lynn's parents resided together in Assisted Living at St. Luke's Nursing Center in Carthage, MO. In fact, on June 26, 2019, Bill and Jan celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary. Or as Lynn likes to call it, their "Route 66 Wedding Anniversary." (Carthage, MO is located right on Historic Route 66.)

Bill dedicated these Two Love Songs to wife Jan (Lynn's mother), and we celebrate their 66 amazing years together by sharing this wonderful never-before-released recording of Bill singing and playing piano on the beautiful classic "Always" composed by Irving Berlin, and of Bill accompanying daughter Lynn on the much-loved song "Autumn Leaves," composed by Joseph Kosma, Jacques Prévert (original lyrics in French) and Johnny Mercer (English lyrics).

It was our family's hope that in making Bill's beautiful music making available to a wider audience, additional funds might be raised to put toward their Assisted Living care. Sadly, both of Lynn's parents passed away in the nursing home in 2020; Lynn's father's passing on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020 due to congestive heart failure, and Lynn's mother's passing on October 12, 2020 due to complications from Covid-19.

This to say, our family no longer needs funds from the sale of Billy Joe Sutter's music here. So feel free to download for free. Our hope is that this music will lift you up!

These "Two Love Songs" were recorded as an after thought (and never officially released) -- on the same day Bill recorded his 10-song CD "Songs Of My Journey" (just prior to his his 75th birthday in 2007), also posted here on our Adler & Hearne Band Camp page.

"Two Love Songs" was recorded, mixed and mastered at Siesta Ranch Studios outside Winnsboro, TX near Adler & Hearne's home - the Spring Hollow Organic Song Farm.

Bill was a retired Baptist minister of music and prolific song writer. In addition to his calling to music ministry, his life's work included the roles of teacher, composer, arranger and music clinician. Bill enjoyed many years as piano tuner and technician. He retired from First Baptist Church, Carthage, MO some years ago, followed by interim work at area churches including Grace Episcopal Church in Carthage. Other churches he's served through the years were in the cities of Muskogee, OK, Ada, OK, Amarillo, TX, Charlotte, NC, Jacksonville, FL, Miami, OK and Salem, VA. Bill was a constant companion to Jan, and ever true to his calling -- he continued to minister through music to his St. Luke's community at the piano for chapel services and morning devotions in the dining room.
