These 13 songs are served up with just the right amount of spice and seasoning by 'Chef Maines,' along with special musical guests Glenn Fukunaga, Chris Gage, Terri Hendrix, Pat Manske, and Steve Smith. We dedicate this recording to cowriter and kindred spirit Hal Greenwood for the gift of your words through the years. Thanks also to treasured cowriters Lisa Aschmann and Kate Hearne.
Humble thanks to Lloyd Maines for all you do to ‘serve the song’ as producer and guest musical artist extraordinaire on dobro, pedal steel, baritone and 12-string guitar, and percussion. It was a fun ride to make this CD with you. To engineer and percussionist Pat Manske, thank you for keeping a steady hand on the heartbeat of this project.
Love and thanks to special guest and daughter Kate Hearne whose lead guitar throughout the CD, and harmony vocal on “Salty Town,” make our hearts smile. To honored musical guests Glenn Fukunaga on bass, Chris Gage on keys, Terri Hendrix on harmonica and background vocals, and Steve Smith on mandolin on the title song – our hats are off. Every note was perfect.
Deep gratitude to all in our musical ‘group hug’ around the globe – DJs, fans, family, friends, hosts, media, mentors, presenters, promoters – and especially our dearly beloved Kickstarter backers. (Special kudos to ‘Waybackers’ Chuck and Kathy Hamilton.) Thank you for welcoming our music with such open arms.
All songs and writers – Earthen Vessel Music (ASCAP), except Lisa Aschmann – Nashville Geographic (ASCAP). Engineered, mixed and mastered by Pat Manske at The Zone Recording Studio, Dripping Springs, TX.
