about

April 5, 2021 NOTE: Billy Joe "Bill" Sutter was Lynn Sutter Adler Hearne's father. (Lynn being one half of the duo Adler & Hearne, for clarification as to why this man's music is on this duo's Band Camp page!) One year ago as of the posting of this preface/note, Lynn's dear father passed away. It was Palm Sunday, April 5 of 2020 toward the beginning of the Covid-19 global pandemic. Little more than six months later, his dear wife / Lynn's mother Jan also passed away. Bill's beautiful music lives on here in loving memory and tribute to their endless love for one another, and their great faith in God. No need to donate for any downloads of his music here. But if you do donate, God bless you and we'll put the funds to good use.

_____

As of the publishing of his recordings here on our Band Camp page, Bill and Lynn's mother Jan are together in Assisted Living at St. Luke's Nursing Center in Carthage, MO. We're sharing this wonderful recording "Songs Of My Journey" -- mostly original spiritual songs of Bill's -- in hopes of raising additional funds to put toward their care.

Two more recordings of Bill's will be uploaded soon. One song is a light-hearted original of Bill's entitled "Banjo Picker." The other recording is of two classic love songs; one sung by Bill for Jan "Always," and the other "Autumn Leaves" sung by Lynn. All of the piano accompaniment on these recordings was performed live in the studio by Bill, in sync with the vocals. It was an unforgettable recording studio experience.

When you download Bill's music from this site - whatever donation amount you choose to pay for your download/s goes toward the purpose described above. Our family thanks you from the heart for providing some much-needed support, in exchange for these beautiful songs.

"Songs Of My Journey" was recorded prior to and released on Bill's 75th birthday - October 19, 2007. Produced and performed by Bill, it was recorded, mixed and mastered at Siesta Ranch Studios outside Winnsboro, TX near Adler & Hearne's home - the Spring Hollow Organic Song Farm.

Bill is a retired Baptist minister of music and prolific song writer. In addition to his calling to music ministry, his life's work has included the roles of teacher, composer, arranger and music clinician. Bill also enjoyed many years as piano tuner and technician. He retired from First Baptist Church, Carthage, MO some years ago, followed by interim work at area churches including Grace Episcopal Church in Carthage. Other churches he's served through the years were in the cities of Muskogee, OK, Ada, OK, Amarillo, TX, Charlotte, NC, Jacksonville, FL, Miami, OK and Salem, VA. These days Bill is constant companion to Jan, and ever true to his calling -- he continues to minister through music to his St. Luke's community at the piano for chapel services and morning devotions in the dining room.

All of "Songs Of My Journey" were written by Bill Sutter © Earthen Vessel Music / ASCAP, except [1] Words by Eliza Edmonds Hewitt / Music by William J. Kirkpatrick, [2] Words & Music by Haldor Lillenas, and [3] Words by Dottie Rambo / Musical Setting by Bill Sutter.
